Our Delicate Skin and a Soothing Bath
Your delicate skin is your first line of defense against the environment. It seems to be “solid” but it is very permeable. This means it “drinks” whatever it comes in contact with. Today, the administration of drugs and medicines are often done through transdermal skin patches, which has been shown to be up to 95% more effective than oral medication in some instances.
This is good and bad: bad because we can absorb toxic chemical residue left in the bathtub after cleaning it and good because it means our skin can be fed, treated and nourished from the outside. So be mindful of what you bathe with and moisturize with.
Here is a nourishing post sun bath that will calm and sooth sunburnt skin:
· 1 cup organic aloe vera juice
· ¼ cup liquid chlorophyll
· ½ cup rolled oats
Add all of these ingredients to cool bath water and soak in them for 20 to 30 minutes. These ingredients will nourish, soothe and moisturize the skin. Oats are high in silica, which is essential for beautiful skin, plus they add a nice gel like feeling to the bath water. Aloe is natures great healer and does wonders for a sunburn.
