Yesterday I received a lovely little bouquet of flowers. Carnations, daisies, lilies and irises made up the majority of the bouquet. The bouquet smelled beautiful and being obsessed with all things bath, I thought of using the blooms in a bath. Then I had to wonder, what sort of pestisides and preservatives are used on commercial flowers?
You often see pictures of bathtubs full of flowers and I have taken many rose petal baths not really thinking about what was on the flowers. Now I'm older and wiser, I say if they aren't edible, don't bathe with them. Or maybe if they are home grown, go for it. Instead, use scented oils? Teas? Bath teas? Heather Lane Cosmetics has a cute Etsy Store that sells floral bath teas that are organic, plus she offers many other really crafty bath accouterments.
Keep it clean and bathe organic!
